In October 1997, an 8-page backup story in Heroic Tales #3 introduced a Vegas showgirl with psionic powers — Ace of Diamonds. She returned in Heroic Tales #5 and earned her own title, which ran issues #0 through #3.
Her world grew fast. Bloodlust, the classified vampire hybrid agent, debuted alongside her. Silver Spyder stepped out of a pin-up and into her own adventures. Villains gathered in the shadows.
The plan was always bigger: an all-female team book called Megababes. The original run ended before that destiny could be published — and that unfinished story is exactly where the new era begins.
